MANAGING TRUSTEE

Andy McNair is Chair of the Way Trust and has been involved since April 2021. He has worked in Construction for 25 years, primarily as a Chartered Architect and currently as Director of a Main Contractor in Aberdeen. He believes that providing work opportunities for the long term unemployed gives individuals a structure for life. The Way Trust offers this in a supportive, caring environment. Andy is married to Aileen, with two children, and lives in Aberdeenshire.

FINANCE TRUSTEE

Trained and qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, he moved to work with a local housebuilder/ building contractor and laterally was promoted to Construction Director, a position he held for over 15 years. He retired a few years ago after having worked in the construction industry for 45 years and now spends some of his time helping charities and friends requiring advice on property refurbishment projects.

TRUSTEE

Kenny Cheyne has been part of the Straight Way/Way Trust family for a number of years. Whilst at University he led a team over a number of summers undertaking the various landscaping roles. He became a Trustee in June 2020 utilising his skills as a Chartered Building Surveyor and having been in the industry for some 20 years. Kenny has always believed in providing opportunities for those who may not have easiest starts to their working life and see’s The Way Trust as an excellent conduit if for such an opportunity. Kenny is a local lad, is married to Judith, and they have a daughter.

TRUSTEE

John Merson has been a member of the Way Trust for sixteen years. He retains a strong passion to see people from challenging and chaotic backgrounds given the chance of economic rescue through a Straightway placement. His main role is envisioning and providing spiritual and pastoral care for the team.

TRUSTEE

Neil Cordiner has been a Trustee for over ten years. He has over 40 years of experience in the Retail, Waste Management & Recycling, Oil Service, Property Development & Construction sectors. Neil is an Elder and Trustee of Deeside Christian Fellowship Church. He is married to Sonya, is a father of four and grandfather of two.

TRUSTEE

Andrew became a Trustee in 2020. Raised in Fraserburgh but now living in Westhill with his wife, Toria, and their three young children. Andrew is a member of King's Aberdeen church. During the day, he practices law in Aberdeen and in the evenings he enjoys playing golf and relaxing in a garden landscaped by Straight-Way.
